Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive
The R&D Tax Incentive is a generous, broad-based entitlement program designed to provide assistance to businesses by offsetting some of the costs of doing research and development (R&D).
The program offers significant benefits to eligible businesses by reducing the cost and risk of undertaking research and development activities. This helps companies doing eligible work to create new or improved products, processes and services, by reducing their tax.
The program is open to all firms in all sectors conducting eligible R & D activities. There are however some eligibility exclusions (please check with STAXS staff to see if your activities are eligible).
All eligible companies can benefit from the program and pay less tax by:
- conducting eligible R & D activities (see customer information guide)
- registering with AusIndustry (see website)
- lodging your annual company tax return with the Australian Tax Office.
